MEET MITCH

More than 35 years in healthcare

Meet Mitch and the story behind Longeva™.

Mitch Matson is a Registered Nurse and Midwife with more than 35 years in healthcare, 17 years of experience as a cosmetic nurse, and is a qualified menopause coach.

For the past several years, Mitch’s practice in cosmetic medicine has been supported by the clinical oversight of Dr Ellen Selkon and the highly experienced medical team at Clinic 42 in Epsom, Auckland. Dr Selkon is a highly respected and experienced cosmetic medicine doctor, national trainer and speaker within the field. Mitch is proud to work under the guidance of such an established medical team, with ongoing education, clinical auditing, current best practice and patient safety remaining central to the care she provides.

Her extensive clinical career has included acute and specialist nursing across emergency care, operating theatre and intensive care, as well as primary healthcare, midwifery and clinical education. She currently continues to work as a Registered Nurse within a busy functional health practice in New Plymouth.

Mitch has cared for women across the lifespan and through some of life’s most significant transitions. As a qualified menopause coach - with her own lived experience of navigating menopause - she brings both professional understanding and genuine relatability to the changes women experience through midlife. This has shaped her strongly woman-centred approach and her ability to consider the person as a whole - not simply a symptom, an aesthetic concern or a treatment.

Before establishing Longeva™, Mitch owned and successfully sold two aesthetic clinics in the Waikato. Her years as a clinic owner and cosmetic nurse have given her extensive experience in aesthetic assessment, treatment planning, clinical safety and understanding which treatments genuinely offer value.

Longeva™ brings together the breadth of Mitch's career: acute clinical nursing, midwifery, education, primary healthcare, specialised aesthetics and her growing focus on functional health, longevity and healthy ageing.

The conversations that
changed everything

Over the years, Mitch realised that women were rarely talking only about their faces.A conversation about skin or aesthetic treatment would often become a conversation about menopause, exhaustion, changing bodies, confidence, stress, sleep, strength, identity and the question many women begin to ask in midlife: How do I want to feel as I grow older? Those conversations changed the way she thought about beauty.

Looking well could not be separated entirely from feeling well. Aesthetic treatment could have a place, but it was never the whole story. Women wanted honest information, subtle and thoughtful treatment, and support that acknowledged both their appearance and the biology beneath it.

From that understanding, the Longeva™ philosophy emerged: healthy ageing over anti-ageing; biology over trends; individuality over perfection; and care that considers the woman as a whole.

Longeva™ brings together the breadth of Mitch’s career: acute clinical nursing, midwifery, education, primary healthcare, specialised aesthetics, menopause coaching, and her growing focus on functional health, longevity and healthy ageing.

Coming home to Taranaki

For Mitch, creating Longeva™ in Taranaki is personal. Through her Ngāti Mutunga whakapapa, she has long felt a connection to the region, and returning here has brought a sense of coming home - while also marking the beginning of a completely new chapter.

Longeva™ is the culmination of decades of caring for women, years in cosmetic medicine, a growing fascination with longevity and healthy ageing, and the freedom to finally bring all of those parts together in one place.
