Dermal Fillers

Less is more - little and often.

Dermal filler has changed considerably over the years - and so has our understanding of facial ageing.

Ageing is not simply about losing volume. Changes occur across the skin, fat, muscle, ligaments and underlying facial structure, which means that simply adding more filler is not always the answer.

At Longeva™, dermal filler is used selectively and conservatively as one part of a broader approach to facial ageing.

Mitch's philosophy is simple: less is more - little and often.

Rather than chasing volume or changing the natural architecture of the face, small, thoughtfully placed amounts of hyaluronic acid filler can be used to restore subtle support, soften selected lines and maintain facial harmony.

With extensive experience in cosmetic nursing, Mitch's approach has evolved away from large-volume facial augmentation towards more refined, considered treatment - particularly through the lips, perioral area and lower face.

The aim is not to make you look “done”.
It is to help you look rested, balanced and naturally like yourself.

Things to know

  • Results from dermal filler are generally visible immediately, although swelling and settling can temporarily affect the appearance of the treated area.Final results are better assessed once initial swelling has resolved and the filler has integrated into the tissues.

  • Depending on the area treated, product used, amount placed and individual metabolism, results may typically last approximately 6-18 months.

  • Dermal filler does not necessarily need to disappear completely before it is refreshed. Where appropriate, small amounts can be added over time to maintain and build on an existing result.

  • As a general guide, many clients choose a refresh approximately every 6-12 months, depending on the area treated and their individual response.

  • Mitch's approach remains conservative: less is more - little and often, with treatment recommended only where it genuinely adds value.

  • For lip treatments, an optional dental-style Lip Block is available for clients wanting additional comfort during treatment.

Ongoing Maintenance

  • Bruising, swelling, tenderness and temporary asymmetry can occur following dermal filler treatment and generally settle as the area heals.

  • Dermal filler is a medical procedure and, although uncommon, more significant complications can occur. Your individual risks, suitability, consent and aftercare will be discussed before treatment.

  • Not every area of facial ageing is best treated with filler. Where another treatment or approach is likely to produce a more appropriate result, Mitch will discuss this with you.Individual results, response and longevity vary.

Results & longevity

  • Results are generally visible immediately, although swelling and settling can temporarily affect the appearance of the treated area.

  • Dermal filler longevity varies according to the area treated, product used, amount placed, individual metabolism and lifestyle factors.Mitch takes a considered approach to maintenance - filler does not need to be completely gone before treatment is refreshed. Small amounts can be added where appropriate to maintain and build on an existing result, rather than allowing the effect to disappear completely.

  • As a general guide, many clients choose to refresh their filler approximately every 6-12 months, depending on the area treated and their individual response.

  • The aim remains the same: less is more - little and often, maintaining natural-looking results without unnecessary volume.

Lip Block

Enhanced Comfort for Lip Filler · $59

Most clients manage lip filler treatment well with topical numbing cream. However, for those wanting additional comfort, Mitch also offers an optional Lip Block.

A small amount of local anaesthetic is carefully administered into the gum area using very fine needles, temporarily numbing the lips before filler treatment begins.

This can significantly reduce discomfort during lip injections and may be particularly helpful for clients who are sensitive to treatment or simply prefer greater pain relief.

What to expect

  • Local anaesthetic is administered using very fine needles

  • The lip area becomes significantly numb before filler treatment

  • Numbness typically lasts approximately 45-60 minutes

  • Your suitability will be assessed before proceeding

  • Lip filler treatment is then performed as planned

Things to know

  • Because the lips may be very numb following a block, care should be taken with hot food and drinks until normal sensation has returned.

Add to your appointment

  • The Lip Block can be added when booking your lip filler appointment.

  • If you're unsure whether you'll need one, you can discuss it with Mitch at your appointment and decide together before treatment.

Treatment Review

At Longeva™, your care continues beyond the treatment itself. Mitch recommends that all new clients return for a complimentary review approximately two weeks after their first treatment. This allows her to check that everything has settled and is working as expected, answer any questions and ensure you’re happy with your result.

You won’t necessarily require a review after every future appointment, but it is particularly recommended following your first treatment at Longeva™.
